Synergic effects in surface coating
On November 12, 2003 the METZ Holding GmbH took over 94 % of the shares of VTD Vakuumtechnik Dresden GmbH.
The international IST METZ group with their headquarters in Nürtingen near Stuttgart has got 360 employees and generated a consolidated group turnover of 52 Mio. Euro for the past year.
The IST METZ group develops, produces and sells UV units for the environment-friendly curing and drying of solvent-free colours, varnishes and silicones. The UV units are used in the graphic arts industry, the automotive industry as well as for other industrial applications. All components being part of the direct core competence are developed and produced within the group itself. The intelligent coating of the UV reflectors is of special importance. Therefore the takeover of VTD was a logical consequence in order to be able to increase know-how in this key technology.
VTD has a staff of 65 employees and deals with the development, production and export of vacuum-coating units. Owing to the takeover, in future they will have a high-performance partner with IST METZ at their side. The two companies aim at expanding their positive business development. Especially by using the world-wide sales and distribution network of the IST METZ group market potentials are to be opened up.
