BLK-5 wins the ICE Innovation Award
This year’s ICE Innovation Awards were handed out on the occasion of the ICE Europe 2009 in Munich. IST METZ received the highly prized industry award for its energy-saving BLK-5 UV drying system in Munich on 25.11.2009. With the BLK-5, IST presents a new drying system that is extremely energy-efficient and yet still delivers an extraordinarily high drying performance. The reduced energy consumption of the new UV system is also reflected in a marked cut in CO² emissions. With this newly developed UV drying system, several tons of CO² emissions could be avoided every year.
According to the jury, they had never had so many converting companies taking part in the award. The jury was particularly impressed at how machine builders and suppliers to the paper, film and foil processing industry are answering to users’ demands for greater energy efficiency, shorter set-up times and longer machine service life in a creative and inspired way.
