On 3 December 2008 20 students of the Municipal Technical College for Print and Paper Converting (Stadt. Fachschule für Drucktechnik und Papierverarbeitung) in Munich, under the direction of their professor Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Manfred Szugat were welcomed at the facilities of IST METZ GmbH in Nürtingen.
Mr. Vanselow from the company owned UV Transfer Center (UVTC) addressed the group and introduced IST METZ GmbH and the numerous UV applications. Subsequently Mr. Giorgio Bianco, sales department sheet fed gave a lecture on the security and the quality increase in the UV printing. At this point he elaborated the single components of the IST UV unit and the hereby involved quality demands.
Owing to the worldwide increasing energy costs Mr. Andreas Groß, sales department MKG explained in his lecture the possibilities for further increase in efficiency of IST UV systems.
After a joint lunch the students visited the production site as well as the subsidiaries located in Nürtingen. All of them were impressed that all main components (such e.g. lamps, reflector and power supply devices) are developed and manufactured within the IST METZ company.
Subsequently Mr. Martino Gaziano from the UV Transfer Center explicated our company owned 7 colour printing press. This printing press is available to customers for UV trainings / tests. Further services of the UVTC such as workshops, UV print and laboratory tests were elaborated.
