Blood Donation Campaign and Health Day at IST METZ

Since the first blood drive at IST METZ was as great success in 2014, now the second action of this nature was arranged by mechanical engineering company IST METZ.

Blood could be donated from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. The event was not only open for employees who could donate during working hours, but also for volunteers from Nürtingen. The apprentices of IST METZ promoted the event beforehand and helped to manage the day.

64 people showed up to donate blood, unfortunately 11 of them were not an option because of various reasons, such as illness. With this in collaboration with the German Red Cross, 53 donors were treated within nearly five hours. “Again it has been great fun at IST METZ. Procedure and hospitality were as well organized as last time”, says Daniel Schnell of the German Red Cross Blood Donation Centre Baden-Württemberg – Hessen. “It would be our pleasure to return to IST METZ”, he adds.

First Health Day at IST METZ

Parallel to the blood donation campaign the first internal Health Day was held at IST METZ. Representatives of health insurance, pension insurance, trade associaton and the company doctor were on site.

Abundant information material, presentations and personal conversations were the basis for a lively exchange. In a pleasant atmosphere, all employees had the opportunity to ask questions on the subject of health and prevention at the workplace.
