At UV DAYS IST METZ presented the prize-winning packaging as an example for the printed product of the future. The packaging is decorated with high-class varnish effects that have been achieved via sheet-fed offset and inkjet printing. An inline embossing additionally creates the special haptic. The printed product is complemented by an app with which you can see a 3D animation on a smartphone or tablet PC that shows how to transform the packaging into an ambient light.
The packaging was developed at the Marketing Department of IST METZ. It was printed on the in-house printing press of IST METZ, longstanding partners from the south of Germany supported the production in terms of finishing and the development of the IST METZ App.
In the category „Packaging“, in which IST METZ won the Promotional Gift Award, four other products got an award, amongst them promotional gifts for Red Bull and Colgate. The official award ceremony including the exhibition of the winning products and the presentation of the trophies will take place at HAPTICA® live ‛14 on 26th March 2014 in Cologne.
Dirk Jägers, Managing Director of IST METZ, is glad about one more award after Print Stars already have been twice a success: „We are very proud of the prize. It proves that we have created an impressive product that even generates buzz outside of the printing industry.“ But there’s no intention to rest on these laurels, says Jägers: „We take these awards as an incentive for future print products from IST. The next UV DAYS will come!”
255 products have taken part in the competition in seven categories. The five-member expert jury awarded 53 products. The prize which is aimed at German and international manufacturers, importers, agents, designers, agencies and advertising companies has been awarded since 2002.
