Recognising the service of 36 long-standing employees

Around 300 employees from the IST METZ Group had gathered in Plant 1 in Zizishausen last Friday afternoon to celebrate the festive season. Only a few days beforehand, others had spread some Christmas cheer when, on 5 December, around 80 children of people working at IST METZ enjoyed a visit to Santa Claus. Twenty former IST METZ employees who have since retired also met up during the second week of December to celebrate the season with their one-time employer.

At the main Christmas party at the end of last week, 36 current employees had a special reason to celebrate: They were honoured for their long-standing service to the company. "The success of a company group like ours depends on people like you and the experience you have to offer," explained IST METZ Managing Director Dirk Jägers. Without such loyal employees, he continued, the high standard of quality offered by the companies in the Group would not be possible. "You know what really matters regarding work, you make an important contribution to production and you play a major role in our success," praised Jägers.

The following employees were recognised for their contribution to the company over the last ten years: Martin Alle, Helmut Böhm, Nina Daumüller, Ignace Didavi, Jens Fritz, Jochen Grasser, Urs Gümbel, Dietmar Kaiser, Claudia Klotz, Claudia Koch, Stefan Koller, Eva Kupka, Astrid von Locquenghien, Norbert Mall, Ivica Marinic, Frank Reuter, Markus Schmohl, Carina Schneider, Stefan Schuler, Gerhard Speidel, Isabell Staudigl-Kittel and Frank Wörner. Rolf Singer and Klaus Müller were thanked for their 20 years of service, Michael Fischer and Günter Opferkuch for their 25 years. Kurt Kümmerle received a special round of applause for his 30 years of service at the company. Employees from subsidiary eta plus electronic gmbh who were honoured for their contribution included Anita Eisenbeil, Grit Fischer, Sabine Haase, Cornelia Sozo and Stefan Zrinski, all celebrating ten years, and Jörg Hummitzsch for his 20 years of loyalty.

As a token of appreciation, each of the long-standing employees received a gift personally presented by Dirk Jägers, while company founder Gerhard Metz thanked everyone, not just with words and a handshake, but with music: He played a tune on the harmonica, accompanied by S1 Optics GmbH Managing Director Dr. Rolf Beckert on the zither.
