You can actively do this to prevent the spread of the viruses

  • Wash your hands with soap at least once an hour for 20-30 seconds, soap your hands from all sides - also nail bed and wrists
  • Avoid shaking hands

  • Keep a distance of about 1-2 meters from people with visible respiratory diseases
  • Stay at home if you have respiratory symptoms
  • Find out about the situation, quality-assured information is available, for example, from the Federal Ministry of Health; information about the situation on site can be obtained from the responsible health office

This is what you should do if you fear you have been infected with the coronavirus or if you have stayed in risk areas

  • Contact your local health authority immediately and regardless of symptoms
  • Identify your contact persons and give their names to the public health department
  • Stay in home quarantine and avoid further contact until you have tested negative for the virus
