UV and LED-UV systems enable the rapid curing of suitable varnishes and coatings on a variety of floor coverings. The short curing times support high production speeds and allow the coated materials to be processed immediately.
IST METZ offers UV solutions for a range of flooring types and production processes – from parquet and wooden floors through to SPC, WPC and LVT, right through to flexible PVC flooring.
Depending on the substrate, coating and process requirements, different UV technologies can be used. UV-curing coatings are used, amongst other things, on SPC, WPC and LVT floor coverings, as well as on parquet, wooden floors and flexible PVC floor coverings.
For wooden floors, UV-curing topcoats enable short processing times. Once fully cured, the coated workpieces can be processed immediately.
Existing production lines for flexible floor coverings can also be equipped with LED-UV, conventional UV and excimer systems. For a wide range of applications, system configurations with working widths of up to 4 metres can be implemented.
Excimer technology enables UV-curable coating surfaces to be matt finished in a targeted manner. Short-wavelength UV light at 172 nm causes near-surface polymerisation of the coating and creates a microstructure on the surface. The coating is then cured in depth using UV radiation.
IST METZ’s in-line excimer systems enable the matting of floor coverings with working widths of up to 4 metres and can be integrated into existing production lines.
For suitable applications in the timber and flooring industries, FREEcure offers additional options for UV curing with reduced or no photoinitiator content. The system configuration is tailored to the coating and production process.
